Ah! Summer in New York City is the most fun and exciting
experience of my life. From the past two summer seasons, I have been
making my way to the Big Apple to make new memories and discover more of
the city's awesomeness. Most travelers that I know don't like
vacationing during winters. It obviously makes sense. No one wants to be
wrapped in layers of clothes and moving around in the snow is hard. New
York City is fun all year long but ideally, summer is the best time to
visit. Below mentioned are some of the things that you can at this
vibrant, thrilling and dynamic city.
Central Park
Central Park covered by a thick layer of snow is not that great. Whereas, in summer time, strolling at this happening and popular park is a wonderful experience. Get a hotdog from the vendor, take a ride on a carriage and ride a bicycle through the green pathways.
Dine outdoor and try out the cafes
New York City is home to countless amazing cafes and outdoor restaurants. Some of the best eat out places include Bark Hot Dogs, Anella, The Standard Grill, Back Forty, Shake shack, The Cannibal and River park. These places have excellent food as well as amazing environment and service.
Cruises, water tours and sailing
Take a New York City Harbor Lights cruise or enjoy riding the sailing ship that cruises all around the harbor. From the waters, you can view the magnificent skyline, Brooklyn Bridge, Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.
Conquer the Empire State Building
Visiting the Empire State building is a must do. This 103 storey skyscraper is one of the most popular landmarks of New York City.
Picnic Day
New York City is home to numerous parks. So yes, when in the city, one day must be dedicated to having a picnic at one of these beautiful parks. Hudson River Park and Brooklyn Bridge Park are two of the most popular parks in the city.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art
How can you be in New York City and not visit "the Met"? Whether you like museums or you don't, that is irrelevant. Everybody loves this museum regardless. Its grand and unique collection of paintings and artifacts is most fascinating.
Night Partying
Visit the B.B King Blues Club and Grill, Delancy lounge or the Vader Bar for some wild fun and partying. New York City is said to have the best nightlife. It would be a shame if you don't experience it.
Shopping Time
Shopping is a mandatory part of any trip. And it is even more important when you are in New York City. The top shopping destinations include Bloomingdale, Century 21, Barneys New York, Macy's and Tiffany & Co. You are bound to exit these places with hands full of shopping bags and a much emptier wallet. But it is all worth it.
